I am the shadow, and I am the light
I am the sunlight, and I am the night
I am the battle, and I am the fighter
I am the water, and I am the fire
I am a raindrop just ready to fall
I am the world, and yet…
No one at all.
Smile.
Laugh.
Run
Faster.
Faster.
Stop.
"What are you doing?"
Trying to escape.
"Nothing."
Look behind you.
Are they there?
Shh.
Shut up.
Don't.
Say.
Anything.
"What's wrong?"
You'll never understand it.
"Never mind."
Scream.
Scream louder.
Rip your hair out.
Cover your ears.
"Calm down."
I can't.
"I'm sorry."
They want you to die.
They're out for you.
Shut the door.
Lock it.
Unlock it.
Lock it again.
Hide.
Shh.
"Are you okay?"
I'm dying.
"I'm fine."
You'll never make it.
Freeze.
Fall to the ground.
Cry.
Cry harder.
Stop.
"What are you doing?"
Dying.
"What are you going through?"
Torture.

Liberal Christian
I know I am an outcast for the liberal way I think
I know that some exclude me for making such a stink
But I try to do the right thing, as I think Jesus would do
It's difficult however, to be modern Christian true
I have always felt that Jesus especially loved the poor
He always stressed that we should always give them somewhat more
There's that thing about a rich man getting into heaven's gate
Something about a camel, perhaps that verse is out of date
Does being Christian mean having total blind ambition
Sacrificing the poor for the Christian Coalition
Making the rich richer by a series of tax cuts

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll be showing up on your front porch
Waving a Bible in your face screaming "Have you heard?
Heard the Good News?"
Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll condemn you to hell for drinking that glass of wine,
Telling you to treat your body like a temple and keep it pure.
Jesus Christ drank wine, didn't he?
Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll be picketing your home, your work, your friends
Just because your beliefs don't agree with mine.
That's a little childish, right?
Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean that I devote my Sundays to God, turn off the phone,
TV and ligh

Walking on Eggshells
Every move I take makes me walk on eggshells.
I just wanted to be the picture perfect girl who excels.
Trying to please everyone else with so many eggs that can break.
So many inifinite and breath-taking chances that I never take.
With each step I take toward everyone's goal; another door closes.
My hopes and dreams become delicate petals falling from roses.
My hands quiver with anticipation helplessly watching more damage.
I didn't know then that sometimes some things you can't bandage.
My world is so beautifully fragile and I try my best to keep walking.
Everything would be destroyed if even a single voice began talking.
Ea
Too high to reach,
Too high to try.
When I let someone down,
I only want to cry.
Expectations are easy to have,
But difficult to meet.
Sometimes it's just better,
To shut up and take a seat.
Everyone has them,
In their minds or on a sheet.
The thing about expectations,
Is there is no way of cheating.
It's either you reach others expectations,
Or you leave at the greeting.
